An alleged drug dealer in Brooklyn was caught on camera throwing a huge bag of weed off a rooftop earlier this month during a botched deal, creating a mad scramble among passersby on the street below, according to authorities.
Police said the 29-year-old man had arranged to meet with a number of other people at around 11.15pm on 1 June on the rooftop of a building in Sunset Park, where he planned to sell them pot.
However, when he arrived, the crew allegedly pulled out a gun and began to attack him, attempting to snatch the bag of drugs – which was thought to be worth roughly $20,000 (£14,000).
The New York Post reports that he then hurled the bag – which was said to contain 19 pounds of weed – off the roof, launching it down onto the street below where pedestrians scrambled to grab it.
The man then ran away from his attackers, who reportedly fled in a black BMW Sedan.
Police said the victim suffered cuts on his face and bruises on his body, and was taken to a local hospital by EMS (Emergency Medical Services).
Anyone who has information on what happened is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
